Jim
Trelease's popular
lectures for parents and teachers are available on film, in either DVD format
or video cassette.
Whether he is presenting live
or on film, his message remains the same: You
sell the love of reading to children by reading to them
for 15-20 minutes a day. You advertise the product you
want them to "buy into." As he explains, not
only does common sense dictate the practice, so too does
the last 25 years of reading research.
After seeing his videos, you'll understand why his speeches
are booked more than a year in advance, and Smithsonian magazine (Feb.
1995) devoted six pages to profiling his work.

To
fit your school's various needs, there are two video
versions of different time lengths. (The parent version
is 34 minutes shorter than the faculty version.
